How we calculate
An open calculation, no guesswork on your behalf
The calculator does not assume any increase in bookings. It works only with the figures you enter and compares the commission with your own website from €249.
Step-by-step guide with sources
Booking.com commission and direct bookings: pay lessHow high is the Booking.com commission?
Typically 15% or more of the booking price. You will find the exact rate for your property in your contract or in the Booking.com extranet. Enter your own rate in the calculator.
How is the payback worked out?
The commission on one night is the price per night multiplied by the commission percentage. We divide the price of your own website (from €249) by the commission on one night and round up. The result is the number of nights you need to take directly instead of through a portal for the website to pay for itself.
Why do you ask about the share of direct bookings?
Having your own website doesn’t mean every guest will move from the portal to you. Enter the percentage of nights you think you could take directly, for example from returning guests. The calculator shows how much you save in commission and what is left after deducting the website price from €249.
Do you store the figures I enter?
No. The calculator works only in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
